How to get certified
Are you interested in a certification by EuropeSpa?
We are happy to help you select the right certificate for your facility and discuss further steps with you. If you are unsure whether your spa meets the requirements, a EuropeSpa Consultant can carry out a non-binding test audit. Do not hesitate to contact us >
All hotels, clinics and spas that wish to be certified according to the EuropeSpa criteria need to undergo a two- to three-day announced audit carried out by an expert accredited by EuropeSpa. If at least 80 % and all knockout criteria are met, the corresponding certificate – med, hotel spa, day spa, thermal spa or wellness – will be awarded.
The first step is a discussion about your aims and the choice of the right certificate for your company.
2. Test audit (optional)
You are not sure, if your company would pass the EuropeSpa audit? Upon request a EuropeSpa Consultant will carry out a nonbinding test audit.
3. Our offer
A detailed offer provides information on all costs related to the certification.
We arrange an appointment for the audit, during which several contact persons have to be available for possible queries during the audit. Who exactly will be announced beforehand.
5. Self-disclosure and Audit plan
We need a self-disclosure based on a questionnaire in order to be able to compile the schedule for the audit on your premises („Audit plan“). The questionnaires are available in the download area.
6. Main audit
The time needed for the main audit depends on the size of your company and the type of certificate you wish to obtain and varies between one and three days. The audit results are summarized in a thorough report and photo documentation.
7. EuropeSpa certificate
After having passed the audit you receive the EuropeSpa certificate. The handover of the certificate often is a solemn event accompanied by staff members and sometimes the press.
8. Control audit
18 months after the main audit – the halfway point of the certificate’s warranty – a control audit is carried out. During this audit we assess, among other things, whether possibly existing requirements stated in the report have been implemented. After three years the next main audit is carried out.
